HyperDrive GEN2: Next Generation USB-C Hub. 2X Speed & Power
4K60Hz Video + 10Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 + 300MB/s UHS-II MicroSD/SD + 100W USB-C Power Delivery Pledge HereEver since we popularized the usage of USB-C Hubs in 2015

We released our first USB-C hub back in 2015 for the 12″ MacBook. In 2016, we introduced the HyperDrive USB-C Hub for MacBook Pro which went on to become the World’s most crowdfunded USB-C accessory and probably the most popular USB-C Hub to date.
Little had changed over the last 5 years

Since then, there was hardly any advancement from standard 1st generation features like:
- 4K30Hz HDMI
- 104MB/s UHS-I MicroSD/SD
- 5Gb/s USB-A Gen 1
- 60W USB-C Power Delivery
Until now…
Introducing the next-gen of USB-C Hubs with 2X Speed & Power

Introducing the next generation of USB-C hubs with 2X the speed and 2X the power of 1st generation USB-C hubs
We call this HyperDrive GEN2

With HyperDrive GEN2, you get

- 10Gb/s USB-A Gen 2 (vs 5Gb/s USB-A Gen 1)

Design
HyperDrive GEN2 is designed to have a minimalistic industrial look that is both elegant and functional. The all-metallic exterior gives a solid rugged feel while the ridges at the top 2/3 of the product aid in heat dissipation and makes it cool to the touch. All 3 models are designed to either stand vertically upright for better heat dissipation or lie horizontally flat. Commonly accessed ports (like memory card slots, USB ports and 3.5mm audio jacks) are placed on the front of the hub while other more permanent connections are placed at the back for better cable management.

HyperDrive GEN2 USB-C Hub on demo at CES 2020
We recently demoed working prototypes of the HyperDrive GEN2 USB-C Hubs in front of thousands of trade visitors at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show (CES) from January 7-10, 2020.

Proof of Concept
The following single-shot unedited video shows a fully functional HyperDrive GEN2 USB-C Hub supporting 4K60Hz video, 100W Power Delivery (85W to computer, 15W to hub), 10Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 (~1000MB/s), and UHS-II MicroSD/SD (~300MB/s)
For comparison, we used a competitor 1st generation USB-C hub which was only capable of 4K30Hz video, 60W Power Delivery, 5Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 (~500MB/s) and UHS-I MicroSD/SD (~100MB/s)
