Exlicon L Brass - Golden Ratio Ruler for Art and Geometry
Multifunctional solid brass drawing tools for golden spirals, circles, and shapes with versatile, accurate ruler. Card Size | Measures Pledge HereAfter a success of the Exlicon L stainless steel version, we are excited to now launch a new brass version. Ddiin has funded six projects on Kickstarter: Magcon, Exlicon, Exlicon MX, Exlicon L, and Exlicon Magnetic Pen, reaching over 80 countries, including the North America, Europe, and more. More than 30 design prizes have been given to previous products, highlighting the exceptional quality and inventiveness. With the backing of 6,000 supporters from our prior Kickstarter campaigns, we’ve been able to bring our innovative designs to fruition.
Track Record

Accurately portraying the golden ratio in freehand sketches presents challenges due to the absence of precise measuring tools. The golden ratio, approximately 1.618, appears frequently in natural and artistic contexts. Achieving its accuracy without tools like dividers or rulers can be challenging. With precise measurements, however, maintaining the exact proportions required for the golden ratio becomes more feasible and subjective in freehand drawings.

Changing Materials – Brass
With the successful launch of our Exlicon L (stainless steel), we have now developed a new brass version. Brass not only offers an elegant aesthetic appeal but also provides additional weight, enhancing drawing stability. Moreover, brass boasts superior corrosion resistance, ensuring durability and longevity even with frequent use. These hand-sized tools are portable, innovative, and user-friendly, allowing for versatile and effortless creative exploration.

Exlicon L Golden Ratio Tool Set (BRASS) includes TG Tool, Triangle Tool, and Circle Tool, which are multifunctional and designed for drawing geometric shapes and angles in the golden ratio.

This brass tool set is portable and multifunctional, incorporating golden spirals, angle measurements, a triangle ruler, 2mm & 3mm marker lines, a parabolic curve, the golden triangle, the golden ratio, and radiating lines. It offers versatile and precise capabilities for measurements and markings.

Golden Ratio Applied to Our Design
The “golden ratio,” a mathematical concept found both in nature and design, defines a proportion renowned for its aesthetic appeal and balance. Approximating 1.618, it is symbolized by φ = (1 + √5) / 2.
This ratio divides a line or form into two sections where the ratio of the larger section to the smaller segment equals the ratio of the entire segment to the larger section. Widely applied in art and architecture, the golden ratio enhances compositions with a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing quality.

We take inspiration from the golden ratio observed in nature and architecture, integrating its principles into our Exlicon L Golden Ratio Tool Set (BRASS).
Exlicon L Golden Ratio Tool Set (BRASS) embodies the golden ratio’s harmonious shapes, making it exceptionally well-suited for diverse design disciplines. Its features are tailored to meet the exacting demands of architecture, art, graphic, industrial, fashion fields. With precise measurements, and versatile applications, professionals can leverage its capabilities to craft visually stunning and balanced designs.

Exlicon L – Golden Ratio Tool Set (BRASS) caters to a wide array of users, including graphic designers, architects, and more. Enabling users to create visually compelling compositions through balanced layouts, application of the golden ratio to grids, and harmonious proportions.
Architects can use it to integrate the golden ratio into their designs. This tool set helps them draw proportional shapes, find optimal dimensions for building elements, and create harmonious spatial relationships. It combines multiple functions into one tool, making the design process more efficient and precise.

Exlicon L Golden Ratio Tool Set: Circle Tool (BRASS)
How many circles can be drawn?
The Circle Tool’s design allows for a wide range of radius sizes, enabling the drawing of up to 112 different circles.

What is the size of the Circle Tool?
The diameter of Circle Tool is 100 mm.

17 Small Circles on the Tool
The tool features 17 small circles, with diameters from 1mm to 10mm.

Three group of Circles with Radii in Golden Ratio
Displayed in the image are 8 lines and holes organized into three groups of circles, each adhering to the golden ratio. These circles groups start from radii 5 mm, 10 mm, and 15 mm, with distinct identification markings.

Group 1 (Semi-Circle)
5mm, 8mm, 13mm, 21mm, 34mm in radii

Group 2 ( Square )
15 mm, 24mm, 39mm in radii

Group 3 ( Number-Marking )
10 mm, 16mm, 26mm, 42mm in radii

3 various Width & Length of semi-circle holes
The tool is ideal for artists and designers seeking to create bold strokes using marker pens. The tool features semi-circle line holes with a 3mm width and lengths ranging from 8.56 to 53.3 mm, ideal for artists and designers to draw lines using marker pens. Additionally, there are 2mm width line holes with lengths ranging from 68.2 to 112.9 mm. The remaining 8 line holes are 1.1 mm wide.

Three different measurement scales
The Circle Tool includes three rulers:
– Inch ruler: length of 1 inch, width of 1 mm
– Millimeter ruler: length of 35.5 mm/ 3.5cm, width 1 mm
– Circumference ruler: length of 18 cm

Two rows of holes encircling the periphery
The outer track features Waterdrop holes designed to accommodate thicker refills for creating dots.

The tool incorporates rounded rectangles within its design, allowing users to draw dots with a ballpoint pen, offering versatility beyond marker pens. Additionally, it features a 10-degree spacing between holes, specifically designed to assist beginners in creating grids or mandalas.
Markings Around The Tool

The holes marked with triangles are designed to label the largest circle, which has a 95 mm radius.

The holes marked with squares are designed to label the circle which has a 89.5 mm radius.

The holes marked with waterdrops are designed to label the circles which have 45.5 and 47.5 mm radius.

Exlicon L Golden Ratio Tool Set: Triangle Tool (BRASS)
What can we draw?

The tool includes seven sets of golden triangles: three in the front starting at 80 mm, 90 mm, and 100 mm, and two in the back starting at 60 mm and 70 mm.

Group 1: Solid Triangle Markings (Front)

The Triangle Tool’s front side features solid triangle-marked holes used to designate a series of golden triangles, starting from 100 mm in size.
Group 2: Solid Rectangle Markings (Front)

Rectangular markings label the golden triangle set that starts at 90 mm.
Group 3: Hollow Triangle Markings (Front)

Hollow Triangle markings label the golden triangle set that starts at 80 mm.
Group 4: Semi-Circle Markings (Back)
