In my workshop, all my tools are within easy reach, but I always keep two essentials in my pocket: a utility knife and a pen. The inspiration for a new design came from my dislike of bulky pockets and the unreliable blade lock on my previous utility knife. To address this, I created a knife with a more secure blade lock and an integrated pen for added functionality.             

The term ‘penknife’ now comes with a fresh twist, since it originally referred to a small pocket knife used for sharpening quill pens.

Machined from Grade 5 Titanium, for lasting performance and durability.

The pocket knife has a side lock to securely keep the blade open.

A bolt-action mechanism is used to deploy the pen, offering simplicity and reliability.

A short scale for quick measurements and a deep pocket clip enhance its versatility.

It uses a widely available 67mm pen refill and a common utility blade that can be purchased at almost any DIY store.

The knife weighs only 57g, with dimensions of 32mm in width, 9mm in thickness + pocket clip, 86mm when closed, and 147mm when open. Despite its compact size, it offers a comfortable grip for everyday use.

Although it may seem complex, the design is simple to ensure the knife’s reliability and longevity.
